There are two luggage qualities
I’ve always dreamed of combining but I never thought it was possible: lightweight and hardsided. You can probably imagine my surprise when I discovered Antler’s Liquis luggage is both, and Colorado Bag’n Baggage is the first in the United States to sell this line.
Benefits of lightweight luggage: Heavy luggage can be a burden when we travel. Many bags start out at 14 or 15 pounds and that’s before adding the contents. Heavy luggage is not only bad for our backs, but it can push our bag’s weight closer to the airline’s maximum luggage weight of 50 pounds. Usually departing for a trip isn’t the problem, but returning with a suitcase full of souvenirs can tip the scale and end up costing us.
Benefits of hardsided luggage. There are many reasons to travel with hardsided luggage. Suitcases are always on a journey, especially when traveling between the ticket counter and the aircraft’s belly. In between they get banged up, thrown, stacked and sometimes even fall from the luggage cart as they get driven across the tarmac. Hardsided luggage can help keep the contents inside safe. Another benefit of hardsided luggage is your belongings are protected from liquid. I’ve seen luggage fall off carts during the rain, only to be retrieved soaking wet. Even inflight luggage is prone to getting soaked. I can recall a number of incidents, in my years as a flight attendant, where bottles of water or baby bottles leaked and flooded entire overhead bins which resulted in liquid seeping into the luggage and bags in the compartment.
I received an Antler Liquis to review and am still stunned by how light this luggage is. The first thing I thought was, I wish I had this suitcase for my Alaska cruisetour last summer! I did a weight comparison with some of my older luggage and there is no comparison. It’s the largest and lightest of every piece of luggage I own. Liquis comes in three sizes: the 22-inch weighs 4.4 pounds, the 27-inch weighs 6.6 pounds and the 33-inch weighs 8.4 pounds. As of this writing, the luggage is selling between $300-400. Luggage is always an investment for travelers, that’s why it’s important to choose something that’s right for you, that is durable and travel friendly.
Antler Liquis may be the ideal lightweight and hardsided luggage, but the benefits don’t stop there. Color choices include silver and navy, and each case has a sleek “waterfall” pattern. The suitcases also have a TSA fixed combination lock which means there is no need to bring your own. The luggage is accompanied with a lock instruction pamphlet for easy use.
Sturdy handles on the top and side make for comfortable lifting and the wheels are fantastic for gliding and maneuvering through the airport. Inside, you will find a fully lined, roomy space for your belongings and a mesh zip round divider for organizing your items. Even the zipper is designed to be hidden and protected. As with any top-quality company, Antler offers a 10 year warranty on their products.
Overall, I am impressed with Antler’s Liquis. Not only because it’s lightweight and hardsided, but it is truly is a good piece of luggage. I’m looking forward to carrying it with me over coming years. If you’re considering new luggage don’t shop until you visit Colorado Bag’n Baggage and explore this options. The lightweight and hardsided features can benefit all travelers.

I need new luggage and am wanting hard sided. Unfortunately the Antler is a bit- ok, a lot- out of my price range right now.
True, it’s not inexpensive, but the way I look at it is Liquis luggage is worth the investment if you travel a lot.
Boy, that’s a ringing endorsement. And yeah, the price is a little above what I usually spend. But I’ll admit it is tempting, since the latest lightweight luggage that is NOT hardsided that I got weighs in at 5.5 pounds. Amazing that this beats it.
Hi Vera,
I’m a sucker for lightweight luggage – you have to feel this line. I was stunned.
Hard sided luggage is amazing. nothing inside gets broken. I’ve had so many safe glass bottles transported. I’m a fan
I haven’t seen or handled the Liquis, but I’ve traveled with Antler’s 22″ Size Zero softsided bag, and it weighs almost nothing when empty. Antler is doing a great job of serving the needs of travelers who want lightweight suitcases that are easy to lift into overhead bins on airplanes or luggage racks on trains.
