Traveling with a makeup bag may seem like a no-brainer, but having spent up to six days a week traveling, I can tell you that this is one area where you can make life easier on yourself by planning ahead and purchasing a cosmetic bag that best suits your needs. I’ve have discovered several of the best travel makeup bags; each offers something unique:
Vemayca is one of the most luxurious cosmetic bags I have even held. It’s extremely soft – all of your friends will want to touch it – and it looks elegant. In fact, Vemayca could double as an evening handbag, which would be perfect for a cruise or any evening out. Despite its classy appearance, it’s what’s on the inside that makes this bag so special. The Soft Pearl Liners are removable and replaceable which mean you can wash your bag or throw out the liner if your mascara leaks. This would have been helpful the time my nail polish bottle broke while I was a on a flight to the Bahamas.
For the practical traveler, you can never go wrong with Tom Bihn products. There are actually several cosmetic bag styles and sizes to choose from, including the narrow Pen/Pencil Clear Pouch or the basic Kit which looks like a traditional makeup bag, but would also work great for your husband’s toiletries or small electronics. What’s even better for travel is the Clear Quarter Packing Cube, originally designed to fill up one-half of the end compartment of the Aeronaut travel bag, it is see-through and offers two equal-size compartments as well as a hook for hanging up. The most travel friendly options is the 3D Clear Organizer Cube (see photo) which also has a hook. Leave your ziplock bags behind, this one-compartment organizer cube was designed specifically to meet the TSA 3-1-1 liquids program requirements.
Cool It Caddy. Anyone who has spent time in the hot U.S. western cities such as Phoenix, Las Vegas and Palm Springs knows what the heat can do to car seats but the pounding sun can also be detrimental to items in your makeup bag – especially lipstick. I spent nine years in Arizona and lost many good lipsticks and chapsticks. That’s where Cool It Caddy comes – this makeup bag has a clever way of keeping your cosmetics nice and cool during summer even if you leave your bag in the car and the temperature is over 100 degrees. Simply keep the bag – contents removed – in the freezer and pull it out when you’re ready. If you’re staying in a hotel you may need to request a mini-fridge/freezer to keep in your room. In addition to cosmetics, the Cool It Caddy can also me utilized for snacks, medication and there is even an option for men.
Thank you to each of these companies for offering me the opportunity to review your travel makeup bags. I really appreciate each of their unique features.
