Biscotti and Kate Mack: Cruise Wear for Girls

What should I pack for the kids? That was one of the big questions I Kate Mackasked before my family departed for our first seven-day Western Caribbean excursion aboard Carnival Magic this past fall. The list came down to three basic groups: casual wear, dressy clothes, and swimwear.

I packed correctly. Most of the time the kids ran around in their activewear which consisted of t-shirts and shorts but for dinner we insisted the children tidy up and look presentable.

Here’s the thing…if this is your first cruise it’s important to know that bringing dressier clothes for the kids is a must. For one thing, formal nights mean a step up or two from daytime cruise wear and that does include children. Plus, some cruise lines have dress code requests for evening dining rooms (no shorts, flip-flops, swimwear). Another reason is professional photographers are available to snap photos. In hindsight, I wish I had planned out our family outfits better than I did. Our best night dressed, where our clothes colors complemented each other, was actually the first formal night but somehow we missed the photographers.

Kate Mack SwimwearWith that said, I do have a recommendation if you’re looking for cute cruise wear for your girl(s). The collections of Biscotti and Kate Mack are designer lines with the most adorable girls, toddler, and baby clothing. Best described as nostalgic with modern appeal these are lines you will want your child photographed in (think holiday cards to mantel photos). As for beachwear, there are plenty of darling suits to choose from, too. My daughter was sent the Monte Carlo, a navy blue and white polka two-piece swimsuit, for review purposes and it’s everything I thought it would be: cute, stylish, and well made. Plus, it fits her perfectly! I wish I had done a little shopping before our cruise because Kate Mack also has a precious navy  swimsuit coverup that would have been a perfect match for her new suit.

The Biscotti and Kate Mack spring line is out, so I urge you to check it out before your next vacation. Certainly you will find some adorable choices for your next cruise. Happy sailing!
