Closest Hotel to Mall of America: Country Inn and Suites

Happy Black Friday! As you know, today is one of the busiest shopping days of the year and, yes, I’m one of the crazy CISpeople hitting the mall – but not just any mall – the Mall of America here in the Twin Cities. I’m hoping to score some bargains and enjoy the spirit of the season (I hear the mall’s decorations are spectacular). But most of all am looking forward to taking advantage of the nearby Country Inn and Suites by Carlson – the closest hotel to Mall of America.

This hotel chain is currently making an effort to reach moms through their Women’s Fall Retreat program. Moms can get away for a little bit of rejuvenation at a Country Inn and take advantage of nearby attractions. Of course, this Minnesota hotel location is ideal for the shopper.

The hotel kindly offered to host me after a day of shopping so I can review the hotel as well as relax with a little “me” time before the sprint toward the next holiday.

I don’t have any big plans today, but for me, that’s heaven. My weeks are usually so over scheduled between work hours, play dates and school activities it will be nice to simply have a girls day (and evening) where the only thing on my mind will be fun and relaxation.

To be honest, I have never stayed at a Country Inn and Suites, but I really am looking forward to it. The photos on the site look very nice (can you see in the photo how close it is to the Mall of America?) and according to the Country Inn and Suites website the property features two indoor pools and whirlpools, a fully-equipped Fitness Center, free high-speed Internet access, free parking and a complementary shuttle to the Mall of America – on Black Friday you can’t beat that!

Check back next week for my review of the Country Inn and Suites – the closest hotel to the Mall of America and have fun shopping today.

We have stayed there in the past. It wasn’t the nicest Country Inn we’ve stayed at- but it wasn’t the worst. It was just average.
