I adore shopping for holiday gifts from the comfort of my home-office chair, and I’m all about finding the best deals on the Internet at this time of year. Following the ever-popular Black Friday shopapalooza of savings that occurs in malls across America the day after Thanksgiving, Cyber Monday (this year November 29, 2010) is all about finding great sales and discounts at online retailers across the web. For the frequent traveler on your list — or even if you’re shopping around for some great discounts for yourself – here are some awesome Cyber Monday hotel and travel gift deals:
Marriott Hotels & Resorts of Costa Rica: Book your 2011 vacation on CyberMonday and receive $99-$119 nightly rates: $99.00 plus tax per room/night at Costa Rica Marriott Hotel San Jose (deluxe room), Courtyard San Jose Escazu (standard room), Residence Inn San Jose Escazu (studio); and $119.00 plus tax per room/night at Los Suenos Marriott Ocean & Golf Resort (standard room). Rates are valid January 1 to December 19, 2011. Visit Marriott’s Costa Rica hotels website and request promo code PR5.
Starwood Hotels: For five days, beginning on Cyber Monday, more than 60 different Starwood resorts in locales such as Mexico, Hawaii and Caribbean will offer significant discounts for stays between January 1 and April 30, 2011. For best savings (up to 50 percent off and rates as low as $99/night) book on Cyber Monday, not the few days following. Visit this Starwood Exclusive Offers web page to book; or “Like” the Starwood’s loyalty program Facebook page for access to the deals on November 28.
Red Roof Inns: Get 15 percent off your next stay at an already moderately priced Red Roof property nationwide. Book at the Red Roof website on Cyber Monday with the VP+ code 608270, for stays through the end of 2010.
Overstock.com: While this deal-based website hasn’t yet revealed exactly what’s going on sale on CyberMonday, surely there will be some great travel-related products on deep discount. Luggage brands for sale on this website include Samsonite, Coleman, Piel and Ed Harvey.
BestBuy.com: From netbooks and car navigation systems to iPods and DVDs for road trips, Best Buy is holding a two-day online sale, Sunday and Monday, with loads of gift ideas for frequent travelers.
Target.com: I’d sooner shop online than battle the crowds on Black Friday at my local Target. You can sign-up now for exclusive online Cyber Monday deals at Target.com, one of my favorite places to buy Nintendo DS video games for my children to keep them entertained while traveling.
