I’m a late adopter of phones-that-can-do-more-than-just-make-phone-calls, but now I can’t imagine life without my Blackberry Tour. That said, I’m thoroughly intrigued by the new Android operating system from Google, and all the associated devices on the market that use this relatively new technology.
In fact, I’ve got in my hands a DROID ERIS by HTC, currently available to Verizon Wireless customers. It’s sleek, light and slim — and I can’t wait to test it over the next couple weeks for a thorough review on PraticalTravelGear.com.
Features I think I’ll like include its easy syncing with Facebook, Flickr and Twitter (via HTC Peep) and its ability to arrange “interactions” by person, so you can access a friend’s texts, emails and phone messages from a single contact card. For travelers, the phone automatically updates time and weather when you arrive in a new destination, immediately upon plane landing. Once my kids get wind of my sample phone, I know they’ll want to browse the Android Market for game apps to download.

I love the Multitasking. I have been thinking of getting an iPhone because my hubby has one, but I could never. Some of the awesome apps on the iPhone reset when you close them! I would love to be able to minimize apps. And this would give us a good reason to break away from god-awful AT&T and their horrible service, and go to Verizon.

I’m really loving the fact that all the emails, calls, texts, status updates, and more are organized by the person who sent it, so it saves time searching. Also love the 8GB SD Card which means it can hold alot of data. It’ll also keep me on the loop w/ Twitter!

I think this phone is fantastic!!!
I actually have two favorite features: the Android OS, a great open source alternative to other phone OSes, and that the phone has 214 minutes of talk time and over 370 hours of standby. Gotta love a smart phone that doesn’t die after only two to two and a half hours of talk, and where I don’t have to bring the charger with me wherever I go.

As my boyfriends puts it “droid rocks”. I like the looks of the phone and that it has a “this century” hugeeee lcd screen. It would be fantastic to play with.
The best feature (other than the Verizon network) has got to be the multitasking capabilities! I’m super busy so switching between apps instead of shutting one down and opening another then shutting that one down and opening the first one again is awesome! My favorite feature is you can organize by person everything he or she sent you. You can focus on what you want instead of having to read all of your email.
The thin, sleek design and touch screen would be my favorite features.
