It’s no secret that Life Time Fitness puts on fun year-round races. I know first-hand, as this past year I partook in the Turkey Day 5k and New Year’s Day Commitment Day 5k and I can tell you the spirit is fun and the t-shirts are always great. If you’re traveling or have a Life Time in your town, these races are worth looking into. This summer Life Time launched a new women’s race series called Esprit de She and I’ve signed up to add a few challenges to my list: a duathlon and a cycle race. There are several races to be held in my home state of Minnesota including running, cycle and duathlon but there are also races are being held in several U.S. cities some of which include triathlons! Even if you’re not an Life Time member you can still sign up to participate in any of these cities: Atlanta, Cary, Chicago, Denver, Houston, San Francisco, Scottsdale and here in Minnesota: Maple Grove, Lakeville, Mendota and Edina.
One of the advantages of being a Life Time Fitness member is the training sessions offered for the various year-round races and Esprit de She is no different – the training is offered in race cities. Plus, members get a break on race entries.
Everyone who enters races knows that the swag is part of the fun (remember how I mentioned the t-shirts are always great?). All Esprit de She entries includes a cute race bag. Ladies entering the running races receive a custom designed, tri-blend lifestyle tank while the other races include a Moxie Cycling commemorative jersey (ARV $58). Wondering about the ultimate in finisher goodies? Duathletes and triathletes will proudly walk away with finisher medals. There’s also sure to be plenty of fun, shopping, ladies events, and depending upon the city and local sponsors, other fun freebies.
During July Esprit de She’s signature “happy hour” runs in Cherry Creek, Chicago and 50th & France in Minneapolis are a 5k that’s worth the effort – there will be glasses of bubbly at the finish line!
As for social media you can follow Esprit de She on Facebook: Twitter: @EspritdeShe and hashtag #spiritofher.
See you on the course!
