If I were to go parasailing, would it be better if I dont take my DSLR camera because I really want to but I'm afraid I might drop it. :(

Looks like fun, Kara. I have a fear of heights too but have no problems when my feet aren't attached to the ground, like ziplining, hot air ballooning, etc. I'm thinking my "heights" problem is associated with depth perception. I've read about virtual reality programs that condition a person to overcome a fear of heights. In any event, enjoyed reading about your experience.

Nancy - If you can do a hot air balloon and helicopter you can for sure do a parasail or zipline. The zipline tour I did at Jungle Paw in Belize was PERFECT for first-timers - short runs not too far off the ground (as opposed to 600-foot stretches over river gorges in Puerto Vallarta). I too do not like heights - but for some reason I can jump out of an airplane (granted, w/ trepidation) and do things like parasail, but I have a hard time climbing to roof of our house when my husband needs me to help him fix something. Perhaps because I'm not roped in or have a parachute?

Okay, Kara, would you recommend this for a person afraid of heights?
I've sailed over the Golden Gate in a Zeppelin, soared above Napa Valley vineyards in a hot air balloon and glided over Kauai's Na Pali coast in a helicopter, but am afraid to zipline or parasail.
P.S. It scares me to walk across the Golden Gate Bridge. LOL!
