Over the last few months my daughter has been asking when we are going to Japan so we can meet Hello Kitty. She has a love for meeting characters, which is proved in her photo book filled with all of her meet-and-greets over the past two years. Hello Kitty is currently at the top of her list.
In the meantime, her closet and dresser drawers are filled with everything Hello Kitty item imaginable – including the cutest jeweled jean jacket. Her collection of purses and bags are growing, too.
If you don’t know who Hello Kitty isĀ – maybe you don’t have any young girls in the family – “she” was created by the Japanese company Sanrio and is the white, mouthless Japanese bobtail cat who normally wears a red bow in her hair. She’s found everywhere from children’s books to TV shows to kids and adult attire.
I recently discovered that Hello Kitty and friends just celebrated 50 years. I didn’t realize she has been around that long, but what excited me even more was to find out Hello Kitty has an entire line of travel items which includes luggage, bags and accessories. We have yet to invest in any of these darling travel items, but assuming there are number of other Hello Kitty-stuck girls out there, I thought I’d share some of the fun products.
Luggage and bags: The luggage is very cute and there is a wide variety of choices in colors from the girlie pink to the more “mature” black options. The price tags run the gamut from a low $42 up to a more pricey $320. Of course, there’s a number of Hello Kitty overnight bags, vanity cases and purses.
Neck pillows. Since comfort is key when it comes to travel your little girl may want to bring along her own Hello Kitty neck pillow.
Accessories: Other fun travel accessories and gear including passport holders. umbrellas and blankets.
If your Hello Kitty loving girl is in need of any new travel luggage or accessories, check our these Hello Kitty-themed items. The really do look adorable. In the meantime, if you have any idea where my little girl can “meet” Hello Kitty in person please let me know. She and I will both be eternally grateful.

Funny, we never went through the Hello Kitty stage w/ my daughter. For your sake, hope she makes an appearance at the Mall of America soon!
I remember when I was going to school my sister had hello kitty pillows, now a days China makes more hello kitty products by the way.
Wow, did not know Hello Kitty had been around that long….thanks for sharing.
