From January 4 to April 4, 2010 Hôtel de Glace, also known as Quebec’s Ice Hotel, will be celebrating its 10th anniversary. Last February I had the privilege of spending the night in this unique hotel. If you go make sure to take time for the Quebec City Winter Carnival. The 2010 Ice Hotel packages are already online. In the meantime, here are a few photos from my experience at the Ice Hotel – there’s nothing like spending the night in a hotel made of ice and snow and drinking a cocktail out of a real ice glass.

Quebec’s Ice Hotel fascinates me! I love looking at the pictures. I think I even shiver and feel the cold coming through them! Thanks for sharing such an extraordinary experience.
Is this the one that was featured in that Bond movie? I think it’s incredibly fascinating!!
What incredible photos! My dad was recently in Stockholm and went to the Absolut Ice Bar – he sent me pictures and I couldn’t believe it. He had to wear a cloak that looked like an elf costume and mittens (the bar provided them, so everyone looked equally awkward). That blew me away enough, but I can’t imagine actually staying the night somewhere that cold. I’m curious to know how they handle the restrooms with running water (you’d think that would melt the ice/snow!). Also wondering how you can sleep in a place so cold – is it really as chilly as it looks?
Diane, the ice hotel in the Bond movie was the one Sweden. I’d love to visit that one, too.
Emily, it is freeezing. But the mummy sleeping bags help. The restrooms are in a heated trailer. You can read more here: http://thevacationgals.com/a-night-at-the-ice-hotel-in-quebec-canada/
