We love our family vacations, and we sure would never turn down a romantic weekend getaway without the kids either. But one rollicking girlfriend getaway that none of us were able to make it to this year is Louisiana’s Tales of the Cocktail. Oh well; it tops my list for next summer, that’s for sure.
Hearing about the Tales inspired me to spend some time in our Research and Development Department – also known as my kitchen – creating and perfecting the SoCalGal Mudslide Martini. “Work, work, work,” know what I mean?
The SoCalGal Mudslide Martini
- 1 oz cream or Half and Half
- 1 oz Kahlua
- 2 oz Vodka, very cold
- 2 Hershey’s Kisses
- Chocolate syrup
How to make the Mudslide Martini: Chill martini glass. Mix cream, Kahlua, and chilled vodka, shake over ice in shaker. Drizzle chocolate syrup into martini glasses for “mudslide” effect. Strain concoction into glass, garnish with Hershey’s Kisses. Serve. Wake up in morning wondering where you are, and how you got there. Kidding! But this is a pretty strong drink; you may want to cut the vodka to 1 ounce.
