The great thing about the Last Minute Travel website is that you can get “last minute” rates on flights, hotels and rental cars months in advance. When I was planning 
for our Orlando winter getaway I couldn’t believe the number of great deals being offered months ahead. To give you an idea, my family was able to get non-stop airfare (for four), a rental car, four nights at a four-diamond hotel, the Omni Orlando, which included two free breakfast buffets daily, for under $2,000.
Our flight was non-stop from Minneapolis to Orlando on Delta. We encountered one common concern: both flights were full when we made our reservations and we weren’t able to secure seats. I had visions of my family arriving at the airport to a full flight with either no seats or our seats being separate from our kids. Fortunately, I was able to log on to the Delta site a couple weeks before our departure and stalk the seating situation. Eventually enough seats opened up and we were able to get seats together both there and back. When it came time, the 24-hour check-in worked out great. We printed our boarding passes with our guaranteed seats at home, arrived at MSP the next morning, checked our bags and car seats and off to Orlando we went.
After arriving, we took the Hertz bus to the off-site rental car office (it will soon be moving to the Orlando International Airport) and picked up our car, a nice Subaru. We found the process just as effortless as our flight. We brought our own navigation system, plugged in our hotel and before long we arrived at the Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate (about a 25 minute drive).
Orlando Travel Tip: Bring a handful of change in case you come across a toll booth – not all booths have attendees.
Stay tuned for a more detailed review of this gorgeous Omni resort. But in the meantime, believe me when I say we were not disappointed. There is so much to do on the grounds it would be easy to just stay at the resort – especially during the summer months.
Our Orlando family vacation was perfect – even though the weather was a little colder and wetter that we hoped. Still, we had a grand time and were extremely impressed with our Last Minute Travel flights, hotel and rental car prices.

it is always best to book the car rental with the flight and the hotel… it can be very problematic to get a good car rental in the vacation season
