If I’ve learned anything living in Colorado in the past 16 years it’s that the weather is absolutely unpredictable – changing at a moment’s notice. Especially in the mountains. Especially in the spring. Last week I was driving around town and my car thermometer read 70. Today, it’s 27 degrees and snowing. Still snowing, after having received about 8.5 inches on my patio throughout the night.
My kids aren’t thrilled: we’d already (foolishly) put away snow boots and snow pants. They called the school “snow line” four times before believing that yes, we have school today. (And it’s school picture day – how much you want to bet most of the kids will have hat head.)
The forecast for my neck of the woods (near Aspen) calls for rain/snow over the next few days. I am comforted knowing that all the accumulation will melt quickly. And summer is right around the corner. Really.
