Marriott Resorts Hawaii has been spreading the good word about the Hawaiian islands — and the lovely Marriott properties on Hawaii — throughout the United States on its third-annual Spirit of Aloha Tour. The centerpiece of the multi-state, 5,300-mile road trip? A totally tricked-out, colorful bus (er, motorcoach) that has attracted attention wherever it’s been.

What crazy timing for this adventure, too, with the “blizzaster” that hit the middle of the country last week. In fact, when I met up with the Spirit of Aloha crew in Denver last week, their intrepid bus driver had just driven through the history-making storm — from Chicago through Nebraska to Colorado. Thankfully, all of his passengers on board — including hula dancers from Oahu’s Polynesian Cultural Center — arrived in my home state safe and sound.
Since January 17, when the Spirit of Aloha Tour kicked off in Los Angeles, Hawaii representatives — including sales managers from the Marriott properties on Oahu, Kauai, Maui and the Big Island, as well as performers in traditional Hawaiian garb — have made media appearances and visited children’s hospitals to share the aloha spirit, via the longtime Marriott affiliation with the Children’s Miracle Network.
The 11-city Spirit of Aloha Tour ends in Houston this week, but you can enjoy your own slice of the aloha spirit in Hawaii with the Spirit of Aloha Special Package deals from participating Marriott properties (book by February 28 for travel through June 30):
