Mothers Day breakfast in bed followed by a hike up a small mountain, lunch at an organic restaurant, followed by a Swedish massage and reflexology at a spa/resort, followed by a soak in a hot tub. A take-out pizza for dinner, a rented movie on a big screen tv and a luxurious Lush bath with a relaxing bath bomb wind up the perfect Mothers Day!

You know, I actually told my daughter that, should her dad go to the mall with her to shop, she should take him to Lush? I got nada, but I did get thirty minutes of time to finish my book in bed. Then we were off to celebrate our moms. It was still pretty nice, but this could totally supplement.

My brother recently moved to Puerto Rico, and I know my mom has been really missing him. So for Mother’s Day I bought her a subscription to Skype and called my brother through it while she was getting ready for brunch. When she walked down the stairs he shouted “Happy Mother’s Day!” from the computer on the kitchen table. She shrieked and ran to the computer. They had an hour long conversation, and she later told me how nice it was to spend Mother’s Day “with” both of her children.
My Mom does not live near me but if she did I would take her out to brunch then spend the day at the botanical gardens.
