The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade is a hugely popular New York City event, and practically iconic to Thanksgiving TV viewing (I hear there’s a televised sporting event of some type too, but this is unconfirmed at press time).
It seems that everyone who travels to NYC for Thanksgiving wants to see the parade live, and it is, indeed, a terrific experience. The liveliness of the crowd and festive nature of the parade add up to a great time! And the floats…wow. The floats are so famous that even the pre-Thanksgiving parade prep time is a big event. Bart Simpson, Spongebob Squarepants, and other famous television characters are crowd favorites. The news that NBC has for some reason rejected the cast of GLEE from participating in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade is shocking. Why would NBC – the network that televises the parade – forbid this fun show’s cast from being in the parade?
So much of the show GLEE seems like a perfect fit for the Macy’s Day Parade: A cast of appealing young stars, lively, well-produced musical numbers, and popular music. Let’s face it, if any TV show was like a parade float, GLEE would be it.
GLEE is also a big hit for one of NBC’s programming rivals, FOX. Could that be it? Are the people at NBC actually afraid of GLEE and what it represents – a big hit on another network? I have no idea. All I do know is that GLEE is infectious and fun, just like a successful Thanksgiving Day parade. Let’s hope that NBC programmers change their minds. Having GLEE perform during the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade wouldn’t just be good for the FOX show, after all. It would be great for the parade too – and that’s the point.

They need to give more credible reasons on why they reject Glee. I love this show!! What a refreshing new show to replace all the reality shows that bombard the TV.
OK, I’ve not seen Glee but I’m pretty sure that you know Fox is EVIL and all main stream media is planning it’s demise.
[...] fact, the Affinia promotion applies to five of its New York City properties, plus one in Chicago and one in Washington, [...]
