Parrot Minikit Chic Hands-Free Speakerphone for Safer Road Trips
Hands-free headsets are the law of the land on a lot of states now, including California. That explains why Californians driving around (and we’re always, sadly, driving around) look like we’ve gone loopy and are
jabbering away to ourselves. Hey, it’s better than the alternative: Getting pulled over and ticketed for holding our cell phones up to our ears while speeding down the freeway does not make for a pleasant day. But I know that the typical Bluetooth headsets can be annoying as well. The Parrot Minikit Chic is a (as it says on the box) chic, ultralight and stylish Bluetooth speakerphone. It’s a great alternative to headsets that balance on our ears while we drive.
Earlier kinks regarding sound quality and ease of use have been worked out for this 2009 version of the Parrot Minikit. It clips on car visors and is a cinch to use. It’s thin, and flatter than my automatic garage door opener. The 2009 Parrot Minikit hands-free speakerphone volume can also get louder than previous models, which is great because car noise levels can really be distracting. It purports to sync with every Bluetooth-enabled smartphone (iPhone, Blackberry PDAs, etc). Click here to check for yourself.
It downloads in a snap from address books, and the Text-to-Speech voice dialing function seems to work really well – at least, as tested from the driver’s seat. Gadget fans will appreciate this ease of use, and I must admit that the stylish case appealed to me as well. The Parrot Minikit Chic is recommended by The Vacation Gals for road trips, of course, and any other car ride in which a phone call is deemed necessary.
