Summer Road Trips and the Chase Freedom Card

Imagine a road trip in a ’57 Chevy!

Summer time is vacation time, especially for those of us family travelers whose kids are too old to pull out of school for shoulder-season vacations. My family and I already had an incredible overseas adventure, and we consider ourselves so, so lucky to be able to have family time together with meaningful travel experiences abroad. You know what else makes for terrific family time for travel buffs? Summer road trips. Yep, the good old American road trip is also a favorite travel experience — and the United States of America is such a big country, there are plenty of great road trip options for family travel. Even with gas prices being what they are (what they are = through the roof), summer road trips are an affordable option for family travel.

You know what makes summer road trips even more affordable? Cash back on what you buy. The Chase Freedom credit card has a summertime offer that gives card members 5% back at gas stations, theme parks and purchases at Kohl’s. Gas stations and theme parks are huge summer road trip must-do’s for family travel. Chase Freedom card members will get 5% cash back on those purchases (up to $1,500) all summer and through the end of September. Sweet deal. And Chase Freedom has no annual fee, so there’s no surprises. New members get $100 just for signing up.

Roller coaster at Knott’s Berry Farm is exponetially faster than the drive there in Southern California

What would you do with all that “free money?” Living in California, I can tell you that our gas prices are among the highest in the nation. Cash back on fuel to get to a summer road trip destination would really help stretch out travel dollars — and we’re going to Knott’s Berry Farm for my younger daughter’s birthday later this month; sitting in the 5 freeway traffic is an inevitable part of this, but knowing we could get some money back on what we spent to fill up our gas tank alleviates the pain. Well. Let’s be honest. It alleviates part of the pain.

But wait, there’s more! A Chase Freedom Twitter party will be on July 25th, at 8:00 Pm Eastern Standard Time.  We can all talk about what we could do with cash back from Chase Freedom cards at this Twitter party — and there’ll be prizes too. Look for the hashtag #ChaseRoadtrip; you don’t need to be a Chase Freedom card holder to chat with us, of course and anyone can win a prize. You need to use the hashtag #ChaseRoadtrip to win! Hope to see you there…and also, I hope you and your favorite people take the time for summer road trips this year.

National Lampoon Vacation Truckster for Summer Road Trips (Jennifer Miner)

Can’t do worse than the Griswolds’ family road trip!

Summer road trips are the ultimate American family vacation, romanticised by postcards and mocked by National Lampoon Vacation movies. Long distance or short, summer road trips make for indelible family memories. That’s what summer’s all about. And making those family travel memories more affordable is, in part, what the Chase Freedom promotion is about as well.

The Vacation Gals is being compensated for this promotion and participating in the July 25 Twitter party.

Spain have much attraction like the history and culture of the country but the best thing I think is the wine and crops, a good alternative to visit and learn about the workings of fine wines
