Back in August, during my Denver trip, my mom and I had the opportunity to privately tour the elegant Brown Palace Hotel in downtown Denver. Rich in history, this hotel is absolutely stunning and it has some cool history, such as almost every U.S. president has stayed at the Brown Palace since Teddy Roosevelt and the hotel’s water is derives from the original artesian well, located 720 feet deep beneath the lobby floor.
Having lived in Denver many years ago, I had heard whispers of ghosts stories about this old hotel, which is no surprise since “the Brown” has been open since in 1892. One such account surrounds, or rather is within, room 904 which is haunted by deceased Denver socialite Mrs. Louise Crawford Hill. But that is only one tale of this haunted hotel and that is why all of October the Brown is offering free 45-minute tours each Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday at 1pm (reservations required) until the end of October. Sounds spooky – Happy Hauntings!
