The Vacation Gals are happy to have this brand new contest giveaway related to the newest Pixar movie, Toy Story 3. At the premiere after party last weekend, guests were given Toy Story 3 swag bags, and while the SoCalKids are delighted to keep theirs, SoCalGuy and I are even happier to promote the film by giving ours to one of The Vacation Gals’ readers. The contest giveaway prize, straight from the lot behind El Capitan in Hollywood, contains:
- One Mr Potato Head
- One Mrs Potato Head
- Two slinkies that are emblazoned with the “Toy Story 3″ insignia
- Two Buzz Lightyear Lego keychains
- Some kind of Toy Story press-on tattoo facepaint thing.
Toy Story 3 is a great movie, almost perfect in every way. Gotta hand it to Pixar; those guys really know how to create crowd-pleasing films. Honestly; the swag bag should have included some Kleenex because there was barely a dry eye in the house by the time Toy Story 3 ended. Not that it’s a heartbreak — the movie is funny and sweet, and the climactic action scene is actually pretty scary. There’s more action in this iteration of Toy Story than in the previous two. I was speaking with two actors who voice characters in
Toy Story 3 after the premiere, and both said that THEY got a little teary watching the movie, even after having participated in making it. So, consider yourselves prepared, grown-ups!
Pixar has made many films, and I’ve liked each of them. To enter this contest giveaway, simply leave a comment below describing your favorite Pixar movie. The winner will be chosen with a random number generator, but please don’t enter more than once a day. The Toy Story 3 contest giveaway is open to US residents only (for shipping cost purposes), and no relatives of The Vacation Gals should enter. This contest runs until June 29, 6:00PM PST, and the winner will be announced on June 30, 2010.

Up!
I’m not sure how to pick a favorite! Toy Story (the original) will probably always remain a classic go-to in my house.
OMG! Maddy’s dying to see Toy Story 3. I remember seeing Toy Story 1 all those years ago and in very good company as i recall. Maddy’s and my personal fav is most definately MONSTERS INC. The combo of Billy Crystal and John Goodman is sublime. I can’t wait for the next installment. Anyway, today was the little dumpling’s first day without school & she wanted to go to the movies with the nanny. Being the selfish working mom that i am, I steered her to Shrek, so that we could see Toy Story TOGETHER this weekend!!
So hard to pick a favorite, but I’ll go with Toy Story. The original is always the best. That being said, I can’t wait to see Toy Story 3. And I heard recently that Monsters Inc. is working on a sequel. Pixar goodness all around!
My husband and I saw the original Toy Story when we lived in Anchorage, we saw the second in Houston, and now we will see the third in Los Alamos, NM. I have to say Shrek is my favorite followed closely by Monsters, Inc. but Toy Story is the granddaddy of them all!
Pick me pick me!
Ooops – wrong studio!
My favorite is Ratatouille – such a sweet spirit and a visually stunning film. It’s a total work of art!
Okay I have to win this. I have two Toy Story obsessed children. Their favorite (and by default, mine) is Toy Story 2.
toy story then monsters
The only one I didn’t care for was Up (though my son liked it). My favorite is definitely Monsters Inc!!
All I have to hear is Randy Newman start to sing, “You’ve got a friend in me..” and my eyes get all misty. My eldest adored that movie and I’ll bet I can recite it word for word from having heard it a million times. The second one is also good but the first will have a special place for me.
Cars is a favorite in this house!
I loved Ratatouille an awful lot as well as the message of the movie – I saw it with my niece and we both just love it.
I love almost every Pixar movie but my two top favorites would have to be Toy Story 2 and Monsters Inc!

Oh my..Pixar makes such good movies, it’s hard to pick just one! I really really really like the original Toy Story. I remember watching it when it first came out. I was in college at the time and thought it was a fantastic movie for adults and for kids. It’s the first cartoon I remember watching that had some humor geared toward adults.
Finding Nemo was my favorite. It’s one that I don’t mind having to watch over and over again.
