Packing for my family has been rather easy over recent years. Every trip we’ve packed all of our shoes and clothes in the huge, lightweight Antler Liquis suitcase and it’s worked rather well. Naturally the older kids, now tweens, are insisting they have their own suitcases. It must be their sense of independence shining through. In the meantime, we’re planning a busy summer of travel which includes a cruise and I’ve been trying to figure out how to reduce what we bring and condense our belongings. Lucky for the girls – and me – I’ve discovered some cool travel bags that are perfect for our excursions.
1. Embrazio Tasca Purse. Let’s start with a word about this gorgeous brand. Embrazio is the real deal. They use the finest leather to make stunning, quality bags. The first time I touched the Tasca Purse ($134), I couldn’t believe it. The price tag is well worth it. It is truly the softest leather I’ve ever felt. Here’s a fun fact: Embrazio spent over a year and a half prototyping this purse. The goals was to use a soft leather that naturally wrapped around the hip and thigh (accomplished!). There’s also something special about the zippers…I didn’t know what it was until I read that these polished zippers cost 5 times more than the normal purse zippers. The purse is 7″ wide by 7″ tall by 3″ wide at the bottom the perfect size for holding a smart phone, wallet, keys, lipgloss – all of a lady’s necessities. And since it’s a cross strap, meaning handsfree, it’s perfect for travel. There’s no reason for me to be hauling my huge purse around a cruise ship, strolling the streets of Savannah, or walking a theme park this summer. Plus, it’s stylish and while there is a nice selection of color choices I adore the yellow. Tasca is my new favorite travel purse!
2. TravelKool Chat ((-: by TrendyKid. While my tween daughter Maddie and I tend to battle over bags and accessories, this suitcase is one item I didn’t put up a fight for because…It. Is. SO. Her. Check out this hip, spunky, modern roller bag for kids. The TravelKool Chat ((-: ($69.99) exterior is filled with colorful text talk: LOL!, XOXO, and all kinds of other text and tech related images like computers, @, and many other icons. She is in luggage love.
From a quality standpoint, it gets a thumbs-up for sure. The TravelKool tween-inspired Travel Gear Collection comes in a 17” hard-shell case with a with polyester lining. The lining dividing pocket and zip compartment is fabulous for dividing clean and dirty clothes. The easy roll wheels really do make for an easy pull, plus they are color coordinated with the case’s exterior. Best of all, it’s super light so it’s easy for Maddie to tote all the while giving her a sense of independence, privacy, and no one is going to be throwing her clothes around a hotel or stateroom as they dig for their clothes, in turn frustrating the heck out of her. I suppose it really is time for the kids to carry their own luggage after all.
3. Teacher’s Pet Backpacks by Land of Nod. My house is slowly being taken over by Land of Nod decor, like pillows, flag banners, and an orange and white striped teepee. Besides cute things for the home, Land of Nod also has some things ideal for adventures on the road including the new “Teacher’s Pet” backpack line ($29) is so cute and perfect for summer travels. There’s a good chance that if your child has a favorite animal – there’s a backpack: Unicorn, Kitty, Dog, Elephant, Whale, Fox, Panda, and Lion. Maisie opted for the pink unicorn. Okay, we selected it for her, but she loves it. It will be her toy bag for the trip and I might even utilize it as a diaper bag on the ship for easy toting. Artist Michelle Romo is the designer and we give her an A+. Besides the roomy compartments, I especially appreciate the padded straps for when she’s old enough to wear it.
Now just to find some great travel bags for the guys…
Disclosure: I did receive these bags for review purposes, but all thoughts and opinions are my own.
