We at The Vacation Gals have our own favorite travel destinations, and we are so very pleased to be partners in a wonderful travel contest. One incredibly lucky winner will get a $10,000 dream vacation! The winner of this travel contest giveaway will also receive a Sony Reader Pocket Edition and $100 Reader Store Gift Card.
This travel contest giveaway is sponsored by Sony Reader. Tablets like the Sony Reader are great to take on vacations: they weigh less than a pile of books and save space in our luggage, and eReader owners can load in many, many books for different users’ reading preferences. Again, whoever wins the $10,000 dream vacation will also win a Sony Reader Pocket Edition — and The Vacation Gals are giving away an additional Sony Reader Pocket Edition with a $25 gift card to the Reader Store to another contest entrant (as are each of the other travel blogs partnering in this incredible giveaway). The Sony Reader Pocket edition has a 5″ screen, is incredibly lightweight, and fits almost anywhere. Users can adjust the font size, too.
How to Enter the $10,000 Dream Vacation Contest
This is about you, and your dream vacation. To enter, imagine that you are there (wherever there may be), and write me a postcard from your fantasy travel destination. Tell me where you are, and what you loaded into your Sony Reader for the trip. Creativity counts for this part of the contest — have fun telling me what you’re doing on your dream vacation!
There are a couple of different “stages” to this dream vacation giveaway: You can enter as many times as you want, but once entry time is over and voting starts, you can only vote one time daily per entry. Also, the winner of the additional Sony Reader Pocket Edition will be chosen by the Vacation Gals using a random number generator.
After you’ve submitted (one of) your entries, it might take up to half a day for it to appear. This is because the Reader Getaway Giveaway team needs to validate each entry. Once your entry has been approved, you’ll get an email acknowledgement. You may enter the contest as often as you like between now (April 5) and April 19, 2011.
How the Winner of the Dream Vacation is Chosen
Entries are accepted until April 19, 2011, at 3:00 PM eastern Standard Time. Voting starts April 20, and continues through April 26, 2011. You may promote your postcards and encourage voting in whatever ethical, legal way you see fit. If you missed the entry period for this travel contest giveaway, you can still vote for your favorite dream vacation postcard entry or entries. There will be official rules regarding voting on the Reader Getaway Giveaway site once voting is open.
Whoever gets the most votes on his or her “postcard” entry wins the Grand Prize, and The Vacation Gals will randomly select the winner of the other Sony Reader.
The Grand Prize of a $10,000 travel stipend (to be used to take a dream vacation), plus a Sony Reader Pocket Edition and $100 Reader Store gift card will be announced on or around April 28, 2011.
No purchase necessary. Anyone over the age of 18 who resides in the United States can enter through this and/or another partner travel blog.

Hi there! I feel like a sun goddess on the gorgeous Islands of Greece! After spending several days in Mykonos where I enjoyed the sun and sand ALL day, everyday, I am off to Naxos and then Santorini! Wish I could stay longer so I could read ALL my books that I loaded on my Sony Reader! To name a few: ‘Beginner’s Greek’ by James Collins, ‘It All Began in Monte Carlo’ by Elizabeth Adler along with other beach reads from Elin Hildebrand. It’s been great to relax on this vacation and it has been a dream come true!

Dear friends,
Having a fabulous time celebrating a milestone wedding anniversary on a Canada/New England cruise. On shore Mother Nature has painted the maples with a crimson brush. Golden birch and poplar glitter in the afternoon sun as if touched by God’s hand.
Last night our waiter surprised us with an anniversary cake and champagne, and the band played “Autumn Leaves” in our honor. Tears brim in my eyes as I recall previous auto and rail Canada trips when Rob and I could drive 700 miles in a day.
Since this likely will be our last cruise, my new Sony Reader is loaded Eastern Canada and New England guide book pages, “The Unexpected Life,” and some Clive Cussler adventure novels for Rob. The adjustable font size makes reading less tiring for both of us. Whatever the future holds, these magic moments will be gems in our memory bank.

Had my postcard all written up.. then found out I couldn’t enter cause I live in Canada. That is soooooo unfair. We buy Sony Readers up here too. We love our Reader.. hubby and I fight for it every night.. So wishing I could have won one. I guess the vacation would have been nice too.
