I rarely blog about travel contests or giveaways unless it’s our own, but today is different. I came across an amazing opportunity involving two of my favorite things: Asian food and travel. Yes, you can win a trip to Asia. Pei Wei Asian Diner is on the lookout for the ultimate blogger to join its chefs on a culinary-focused trip through Thailand, Vietnam, China, Japan and Korea – dream trip! While Chef Eric Justice and his team taste their way from city to city seeking inspiration and food flair, the winning blogger will have the opportunity to write and record via video and photos about the experiences.
The expected winner is described as someone who has a “boundless appetite and willingness to experiment with the unknown, an eye for the unforgettable image and the ability to capture it, comfort both on-camera and behind the lens, a spontaneous spirit but a grounded work ethic, and a passion for Asian cuisine. The Pei Wei blogger will play a pivotal role in uncovering new dish ideas and sharing the discovery process with a worldwide audience.”
The trip winner will also travel to the Pei Wei home office in Scottsdale, AZ to experience Pei Wei brand immersion, a 16-day trip across Pei Wei’s 5 Asian Countries and participate post-trip publicity the month after the trip. Oh, and did I mention the winner will receive $10,000 for his/hers troubles?
It sounds like the trip is going to be pretty vigorous, thus, not for the weary; therefore blogger applicants must be age 21 or older, in good physical health, have a healthy appetite (no picky eaters), be adventurous, have moderate travel experience, possess a sense of humor and be spontaneous. Finally, he or she must be a talented writer, photographer and videographer and comfortable in front of and behind a camera, tech-savvy and a legal resident of the U.S.
To be entered, bloggers need to create a Pei Wei account and build a profile. Minimum requirements are a unique nickname, a brief bio and a sample blog entry but you may include as many as four blog posts, five photos and a video to YouTube. The final day for submissions is December 20, 2010. Five finalists will be selected then the final trip winner will be announced on January 19, 2010. Good luck!
