Now that I have another baby girl to dress up I’m always on the lookout for cute girly outfits and ensembles for her so when I was approached to review a dress from Feltman Brothers I couldn’t resist. After all, nothing says classic baby like their line of children’s clothing. Surely you’ve heard of Feltman Brothers. The company has been around for ages – it was founded in 1916. If not, you’re in for a treat. The Feltman Brothers collection launched with their hand-made dresses. The products were a raging success and evolved into Christening gowns, rompers, bubbles, body suits, blankets, booties, bonnets, and other accessories. The vintage-style baby clothing line is beautifully crafted, hand embroidered, and designed for newborns to toddlers.
Are you traveling anywhere with your young daughter for Valentine’s Day? How about for Easter? Do you have a wedding to attend this spring or summer? What about all of the above? The line is also ideal for special occasions, Sunday services, and, of course, everyday dress-up. Even if you don’t have a young girl of your own these outfits make for perfect baby shower gifts (boy clothes, too!). What makes Feltman Brothers items special is their classic style makes it easy for the outfits to be pass down through the generations – especially the gorgeous Christening gowns. True heirlooms. I’ve always loved their delicate styles and feminine look for babies and toddlers. Truth be told, I’m kicking myself because I should have bought a Feltman Brother’s gown for my daughter’s Baptism this summer.
My 8-month-old Maisie is already cruising (watch out, world!) and I can’t wait for her to start wearing dresses. With this in mind I chose the Sleeveless Dress with Lace and Pintucks (ARV: $65) in pink and I couldn’t be more thrilled. The website describes the intricate details beautifully: “This lovely sleeveless dress has a beautiful yoke front covered in fine hand-sewn pintuckss and French lace inset design. By the waist there is a delicate French lace trim and right above the dress hem there are horizontal pintucks mixed with the French lace trim. The matching panty is fully detachable and has a ruffle trim along the elasticized leg opening.” The back has several buttons but what you will notice most is the fluffy bow that secures the dress around the little girl. Pure little lady delight. I tried the dress on Maisie today and she squealed in delight as she played with the skirt. My heart went pitter-patter seeing my baby girl getting excited about her new dress. And so the fun of mommyhood continues as I get to delight in dressing Maisie in such pretty outfits while traveling and at home, especially in this gorgeous Feltman Brothers dress (though I suspect there will be many more) and preciously watch her pass it down to her daughter.
Sugar and spice and everything nice. That’s what girls are made of – and Feltman Brothers, too.
Thank you, Feltman Brothers, for the beautiful dress. It’s everything I imagined and more.
