Stylish Yoga Pants for Travel from BetaBrand

Boot cut granite travel yoga pants BetabrandNot one for wearing jeans on a plane, I’m always on the hunt for comfy, stretchy clothing items for use en route to my next destination. Betabrand is now on my radar for its creative collection of clothing for travel — not only because the pants, dresses, tops and outerwear are equal parts sophisticated and comfortable, but because the company is irreverent and entertaining. Consumer fans crowdfund to get new styles created (help fund a product into existence by pre-ordering the product at discount), and “Model Citizens” (anyone) can upload photos that get displayed on the homepage (also enjoy a discount on future purchases just for uploading your photo).

And its clothes? I’ve been sporting a pair of the Betabrand Boot-Cut Granite Travel Yoga Pants ($88) around town (to my new weekly gig working at the local high school and out to a restaurant dinner) — and have every intention of wearing them on my next cross-country plane trip this autumn. These are no flimsy pair of pants: the material is moisture-wicking, wrinkle-resistant, quick-dry 88% polyester and 12% spandex, and I think they’re ideal for fall/winter/spring weather — or chilly airplanes.

For travel, the waistband has a small slit pocket for lip balm, hotel key card or cash, and there’s also a bigger hidden pocket ideally sized for a passport. I have the boot-cut version, but the pants also come in straight-leg, and inseam lengths are 30, 32 or 34 inches long. I opted for 32 inches (on my 5’8″ frame) and they are plenty long to wear with modestly heeled boots. Order up if you’re between sizes.

Other nifty Betabrand items I’m eyeing are this darling Fractured-Plaid 360 Reversible Dress (turn it inside out and backwards for four versatile looks) and the Heathered Red-Eye Wrap (cozy cardigan with an eye mask built in the hoodie).

Betabrand also sells men’s clothing, bags and backpacks, and shoes. The fun website is definitely worth checking out — be sure to peruse all the prototypes up for crowdfunding!

  2. Super cute pants!

  3. My daughter and hubby are heading to Guatemala again in Dec., those pants would be great for her since they look so comfy and I love the pocket idea in the waistband.
