Swimsuits for Ladies with Curves

Sorella Swim Spring break is only weeks away. If you’re a lady with curves and fretting over your 2016 swimsuit, I have a delightful option for you: Sorella Swim. Owner and designer, Jessica Petersen, a mom herself, has created a rich line of swimsuits for ladies with curves that includes full coverage swimsuites to other varying degrees of modesty. Sometimes we ladies have body areas that we prefer to hide while others we don’t mind showing off. Jessica has found that happy medium by offering her pieces individually for easy mix and matching so every woman can feel confident in her suit.

Sorella Swim

I love that Sorella Swim’s tag line is “Designed with Curves in Mind”. I am one of those people who have never been comfortable in swimwear and my motherly curves have something to do with that – especially after having my third child. I have a few Swimsuits for Ladies with Curvesswimsuit options but nothing that I love or feel comfortable wearing. But this summer is going to be different. I received a suit for review purposes and chose the Sorella Swim Signature Tankini ($69) with Ginger Swim Bottoms ($59) – in gorgeous Azure. It covers, for me in all of the right places. Sorella Swim offers a tip on the Signature Tankini Rose: The bust line is cut in a fashion that is ideal for larger busted woman averaging a C – DD cup. I chose the Ginger Swim Bottoms because it is a traditional skirted swim bottom which, for me, means I won’t feel the need to grab a cover-up to get up and chase my toddler around if I’m at a resort pool.

I was surprised by the fabric quality. The Azure color fabric is a quality blend of 77% Nylon and 23% Xtra Life Lycra which means more support and extra control. As for my other suits, I’m tossing them. The sheerness and lack of support do not serve or flatter me in anyway, so out with the old and in with Sorella Swim.

Suit sizes run from 6-24 and being that women naturally come in all shapes and sizes there is a very good chance you will find something in this line. The tops and bottoms accommodate various body types. If fact, Sorella Swim has a page dedicated to suit sizes and body types including images. Do you know your shape? Here are the general descriptions: Triangle (minimize bottom and balance silhouette), Inverted Triangle (support top and balance silhouette), Rectangle (add waist definition to achieve an hourglass look), Hourglass (show-off waistline and silhouette), Diamond (provide mid-section coverage and waist definition) or Rounded (draw eye to a more streamlined look). I recommend visiting the site to learn more.

I urge you to check out the Sorella Swim offering, regardless of your size. I’m certain you will be pleasantly surprised at the variety of options, mix-and-match options, gorgeous styles and quality of the Sorella Swim line.

Thank you to Sorella Swim for the suit for review purposes.

  1. Gorgeous color!

  2. That’s my color! Will definitely look into this as I need a new suit anyway for my trip to Cuba in March. Thanks for the tip!
