Jen, Beth and I are thrilled (thrilled!) to share that The Vacation Gals earned four different prizes in the 2010 North American Travel Journalists Association (NATJA) Annual Awards. Most significantly we came home with the top prize in the Independent Blog category. What’s even cooler: we went one-two with our travel-writing friend (and my Practical Travel Gear editor) Tim Leffel, who earned a Silver in the same category for his Cheapest Destinations Blog.
GOLD: Independent Blog
SILVER: Resorts for “A Perfect Day at The Broadmoor, Colorado’s 5-star Luxury Resort”
SILVER: Budget Travel for “Cheap East Hampton Vacation Attractions”
BRONZE: Travel Tips & Advice for the story “Fear of Flying – Tips for Easier Air Travel”
In addition to our friend and colleague Tim Leffel, we recognize a bunch of travel writers’ names in the full list of NATJA 2010 Award Winners, including Julian Smith, whose book I reviewed just a couple weeks ago, the lovely Heather Greenwood Davis, with whom Jen and I cruised on the Disney Dream last month, and talented Lola Akinmade and Jill Robinson, whom we met at TBEX travel-blogging conference in New York last year.
Congrats go out to all of the NATJA Award winners!
